Environmentalists are closer than ever to halting surface mining projects in Wise County, Va. Surface mining adds up to a third of the area's coal production, which is the major economic industry.

I am so sick of the anti-mining mentality of The Bristol Herald Courier and WJHL!  Let’s see how long SAMS and the other environmental extremest groups provide enough support to keep your media outlets alive after the mining jobs are lost from this area.
