Born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee, Chris knew at an early age that he wanted to work inside the television industry. A self-professed sports and news 'nut', Chris sees his position as News Channel 11's Chief Photographer as the perfect position.

Chris graduated from Tri-Cities Christian High School in 1981, having lettered in 6 different sports for the Golden Eagles. After a year in Chattanooga, Chris returned home to finish his college career at East Tennessee State University, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in 1988.

Chris began his television career at WJHL-TV in 1988 while still attending college. "Going to school full-time and working as a Photographer full-time made for one of the hardest, yet one of the most rewarding years of my life!", he says.

The youngest of Eunice and Garland McIntosh's 4 children, Chris has always enjoyed family life. He married his wife, Tammy, in 1998 and they now have 2 sons – Connor and Cooper.

Chris has earned several Associated Press awards for his photography while at News Channel 11. His work covering the John Sevier Center fire and the UMWA strike against Pittston Coal Company are 2 of the biggest news stories Chris has covered during his nearly 20 year tenure at WJHL.

Covering NASCAR racing at Bristol Motor Speedway, University of Tennessee football games and ETSU basketball championships are highlights of Chris' sports photography career. He's a long-time fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and in his spare time loves golf, fishing and spending time with his family.
