Neal Boling moved to the Tri-Cities in January 2008. After spending his entire life in central Florida, he grew tired of the heat, the hurricanes, and the traffic. He also wanted a safer place to raise his family. "This area is perfect in so many ways," remarked Neal. "It has beauty, wonderful people, and a real feeling of community. I'm proud to make it my home."
As News Director, Neal oversees the daily news operations at WJHL. Sometimes that means getting into the tiny details, like scripts. Other times it means hiring the future star journalist. "I love news. I'm addicted," admits Neal. "But I also love shaping our product, and leading the many talented people we have at this station." Neal also works hard to maintain the station's brand: 11 Connects.
Hi hobbies include watching as much football as he can (college and pro [Go Bucs!]), family (he has a wife of ten years and two children), and travel. He is an active member of Junior Achievement, the Rotary Club of Kingsport, and various other projects. He's a big guy, and hoping to get smaller. "Losing weight is not nearly as much fun as gaining it," he quips.
