Tim Hayes has been a sports writer for the Bristol Herald Courier since the spring of 2000.

He covers high schools in the Cumberland, Hogoheegee and Lonesome Pine districts as well as Virginia Intermont, King College and the University of Virginia's College at Wise. He also provides regular updates of local players currently playing on the collegiate and professional levels.

Hayes is a 2007 graduate of Virginia Intermont College in Bristol and has lived in Bristol his entire life.
