A familiar face is back on Tri-Cities television. WJHL-TV is proud to have Amy Lynn as the co-host of our new LIVE show, Daytime Tri-Cities. You can see Amy every weekday morning at 10:00a.m. In regards to the new show, Amy says, "I think it will give people something to look forward to. It will tell people about the new and fun places in our area, and I hope it will add something special to their day." Along with co-anchor Morgan King, Amy and Morgan are bringing live, local fun to Tri-Cities television.

You might remember seeing Amy on WCYB in Bristol. But before moving to the area, Amy, a graduate of St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, worked at a handful of stations in Montana. Amy's first job was in Butte, Montana at KXLF-TV. She was a reporter during the week and an anchor for the Friday night show at 10:00. After Butte, Amy moved to its sister station in Great Falls, and then to Bozeman, where she was the 10:00 weekday anchor. From there, she moved to Bristol, VA to work at WCYB. Amy worked in Bristol for two years before landing her first full-time anchor position in Cadillac, Michigan. After two years of anchoring morning television at WWTV in Michigan, she moved back to the Tri-Cities with an on-air position at WCYB.

Amy's favorite aspect of being on television is meeting all the wonderful people around the area. When asked about the scariest thing that's ever happened to her on air, she says, "At the station I worked at in Michigan, ice was falling from our tower and crashing through our studio during the morning show, while we were on air." Amy also claims that she was on a first name basis with the tow truck company in Michigan, after ending up in a snow-piled ditch several times.

Amy draws her inspiration from the people she meets and the places she visits. She feels very fortunate to have met truly amazing people along the way. These people are her friends and neighbors who have overcome tremendous hardships and have risen to the top. She claims, "There is nothing more uplifting than meeting ordinary people who do extraordinary things. Their attitudes and caring nature serve as an inspiration to all of us."

Amy is blessed to have a four-year old son, Alex. She says he brings such joy to her life. She really enjoys reading books and spending quality time with him. She says, "I love packing up the car and heading out on new adventures with Alex." Amy also likes sunny days and rainy nights. She enjoys spending lazy afternoons on the lake or in the pool. She's not afraid to try new things, and loves meeting new people. Her favorite hobbies include: running, reading, and music. Amy admits, "There's not a whole lot I don't like!"

Television Host/ Hostess You Most Want To Be Like:
Really? Wow... No question... Kelly Ripa. She's got it going on! She is genuine and I love that. You just know if you met her at a coffee house, she would be smiling! I also love that she has managed to maintain such a hectic lifestyle with incredible grace. She is a wonderful mom, wife, friend, volunteer and tv host. Kelly is also full of personality, and she's smart. She does her homework and it comes across on the air. She truly just has a wonderful time each and every day. That sounds great to me!

Ultimate Interview: I would've loved to have had a chance to interview Ronald Reagan.

What You're Typically Doing 5 Minutes Before You Go On-Air: I am most likely looking over the rundown one last time and perhaps chatting with our guests to make sure they're comfortable, and that we've answered any questions they may have about the show. We want to make sure they're having fun too!

What You're Typically Doing 5 Minutes After You Go Off-The-Air: Thinking about the show... There is so much that goes into preparing for a show, and just like that, it's over! I like to think back about the segments and the topics. I also like to take down a few notes, so I can look back at the people and places that made that show special.

Favorite Way To Spend A Day Off: Getting up at a "reasonable" time, getting a great cup of coffee, and sitting outside to read the paper. Relax through the morning, then go for a run. I would spend my afternoon with my four year old son, Alex, either at the lake or the pool. The best part of my day would be watching him smile and hearing him laugh. The evening would be spent enjoying dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants in our area. I like to cook - but let's be honest - I'm no chef!

'Hidden Gem' You've Discovered In The Tri-Cities: I crave the Crabby Caroline from Simply Delicious in Bristol, Tennessee. I come in the door and they already know! "Amy's here, start makin' her the Crabby Caroline". It is the cutest little place. Everything there is good. I am always going in saying, "this time I'm going to branch out, it's good for me to try something new." Yeah. It never happens! By the way, the Crabby Caroline has turkey and crab meat along with slices of crisp bacon on a whole wheat bun... Need I say more???

Favorite Sound: The ocean... no doubt. I love falling asleep to the sound of waves. The only thing better is waking up to the sound of waves!

Favorite Color: Red, it's just wakes you up and says, lets go! It makes a statement!

Favorite Day Of The Week and Why: I love my job, so I must say Friday. It's perfect. I get to do the show and meet new people all the while, knowing the weekend and family-time is right around the corner - yeah definitely Friday!

Your Motto: Get out and live each day. It is a gift.
