PATRICK HENRY REBELS
Coach Mike Compton
Patrick Henry High School
Outlook
Local legend Mike Compton of Richlands, who played in the NFL and won two Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, gets his first head coaching opportunity at Patrick Henry. Compton inherits a team that has a core group of nine seniors, but PH is inexperienced at several positions. Among the players to watch are offensive lineman Johnny Thompson, quarterback Ronnie Groves, kicker Caleb Frye and running back/linebacker Robert Gonzalez. Compton has injected some enthusiasm into the Rebels’ program and the results should be evident this fall.
