ROUNDUP: Miller Has Career Night For J.I. Burton

NORTON, Va. – Five-foot-10 sophomore Ra’Shelle Miller had a night to remember.
Miller collected a career-high 32 points and 14 rebounds as J.I. Burton stopped Jenkins, Ky., by a 59-37 margin Wednesday in Southwest Virginia girls basketball.
Sheniqua Woods added six assists for Burton, now 11-1.
Gate City 38, Appalachia 24
Autumn Richards scored a game-high 15 points as the Blue Devils (2-10) recorded the non-district win.
Brittany Craft led Appalachia (6-6) with nine rebounds, while Erica Boggs supplied seven.
Appalachia converted just 3 of 17 free throw attempts.
Rural Retreat 47, Galax 41
Charlotte Reasor collected 16 points and 11 rebounds as Rural Retreat won a non-district game.
Jenna Dix scored 13 points for Rural Retreat, while Hannah Hadaway added 12.
The Indians (5-7) made 10 of 13 free throws in the fourth quarter en route to the victory.
BOYS
North 67, Rye Cove 45
Jacob Arwood scored 20 points for Rye Cove, but the Eagles dropped a non-district game to Sullivan North.
Arwood connected for all five of Rye Cove’s three-pointers.
Sullivan North, which hit eight treys, pulled away with a 27-11 spurt in the third quarter.
