Vols Win Over W. Kentucky Was A Good Tune Up
Coach and player discussing upcoming UCLA game

Tennessee’s opener was a good warm up.
Now coach Lane Kiffin is ready to see what the Volunteers can do
against a tougher opponent.
Kiffin says his players don’t know what it’s like to play 80
snaps because many of them were benched in favor of their backups
as the Vols cruised to a 63-7 win in their opener against Western
Kentucky.
As a result, they’re facing more physical and intense practices
this week to make sure they’re in shape for Saturday’s game against
UCLA.
Last season Tennessee had four interceptions in the first half,
and Jonathan Crompton had 119 yards passing by halftime. But the
Vols fell apart as UCLA put together several long scoring drives.
The Bruins won 27-24 on a 42-yard field goal by Kai Forbath in
overtime.
