MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Virginia’s College at Wise was denied its fourth straight winning season on Saturday afternoon, suffering a stunning 24-21 loss to Faulkner (Ala.) University.

UVa.-Wise (5-6) saw Faulkner (2-9) erase a 21-7 deficit and the Eagles took the lead for good with 46 seconds remaining.

Senior wide receivers Matt Barbour and Brad Ricker led the way for UVa.-Wise. Barbour had eight receptions for 165 yards and a score and also collected his first career rushing TD.

Meanwhile, Ricker hauled in five passes for 91 yards and a score. The Bristol native became the 11th player in UVa.-Wise history to have more than 1,000 career receiving yards.
Wise quarterback Brad Robbins threw for 290 yards and two scores in a losing effort.
