Nashville Rally Against $787 Billion Federal Stimulus Package

Protesters gathered outside the state Capitol in Nashville for a so-called “Nashville Tea Party” to rally against the $787 billion federal stimulus package.
The event was part of a nationwide set of rallies to protest the stimulus plan.
Some attendees wore tea bags, while one person dressed in Native American garb to resemble the original Boston protesters. There were some people supportive of parts of the plan. Brentwood resident Scott Douglas says he’s for helping people who are unemployed like himself.
The latest calculations from state officials show the federal stimulus would make about $3.8 billion available to Tennessee.

What we have done is elected into the White House, the Senate and the Congress a group of far left Socialists and Marxists. The people running our country think that the answer to every problem is big government and from what I am seeing in the paper everyday they want to control every aspect of our lives. We better wake up and smell the roses and vote these Marxist and Fascist’s out of office and take back our country. Our founding fathers believed in a country ran by WE THE PEOPLE…..not by a small selected group dictating our every move and spending our country into the status of a third world nation. WAKE UP….we can’t keep bailing out the private sector the private sector got this mess going let them clean it up. Capitalism will work but if our government bails it out and owns it, that isn’t capitalism it is SOCIALISM. Just one more thing to think about……..I have worked in the private sector for over 32 years and I have never had nor do I know of anyone who has had …a poor person as an employer…..TAX the RICH right out of business ….
Facts? I’ll tell you some facts. The last 8 yrs was a trample of the constitution and a giveaway of the US treasury to fat cat politicians, bankers and other corporations. The result is a nation near bankruptcy and despair. Where were these tea parties the last 8 yrs? There are now two options: do nothing and let the country sink into major depression (like Hoover) or use every tool available to help put it back on it’s feet (like FDR). Obama is doing the latter. Anybody that doesn’t want to help, but try to drag the country down more, can crawl back in their hole.
In response to COLD FACTS, What do you mean “you guys” I dont claim any party, group, etc… The only people in government that I claim is Military, or should I say the trigger pullers I served with!!! Even among us a few simply refused to pull the trigger, but gladly accepted the pay check and benifits. Can you guess who they voted for?
Not sure where you guys are drawing the line on gov. spending. Did it start with Obama or did it start some eight years ago?
Would you suggest that the present gov. take the republican advise and cut taxes? Isn’t that a back door way to increase the defict? What business do you suggest the Gov. let fall? There is a common interest in keeping business afloat thereby retaining jobs and sending states monies to build schools, bridges, ect. that should place more workers on the payroll. I prefer a tax & spend on Americans than a tax & spend on Halliburton, the war machine, ect. that only a select few benefit from.
As for serving this Nation, so did I and when I walked away, I was man enough and soldier enough to appreciate my country with all it’s baggage. There’s always the alternative,,, go somewhere else.

As a former Staff Sergeant of Marines I recently walked away feeling completely betrayed not only by my scum bag government, but also by the mis-guided “Americans” that voted these thieves into office. My sad realazation is my whole life up to this point is for not. Not only are they giving my Country away apparently my blood, sweat & tears were not enough now they want to contribute to the “bird feeder”. When it comes to the point again the true Patriots will have to fight to regain control of my beautiful Country. All you minutemen take heed!!! I will someday fight again, but not for OBAMANATION.

Select those in government who favored illegal foreign labor over American workers, and broadcast it nationwide. The list is long that includes Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who erased E-Verify from the Stimulus. -
Congressmen Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ), George Radanovich (R-CA), Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY who up to their necks in immigration reform, that would give the 40 million (Stated Heritage Foundation) AMNESTY, not 11 Million stated 7 years ago? The bill, the STRIVE Act of 2007 (Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy) Giving AMNESTY would only cause a monolithic stampede of human poverty. It would further swamp the workplace pool and the impact would effect taxpayers, because they would be forced to pay for the families and children—the extended family!
Yes! that means citizens and legal residents will be competing for work. Just because they illegally settled here, doesn’t make them legal? Thousands took the legal path, while hundreds of thousands wait for an entry visa. Not jumping the line and expect clemency.
Sen.Diane Feinstein (D-CA) who set the stage for the first Sanctuary City. Pro-illegal alien mayors like Antonio Villaraigosa in Los Angeles, Galvin Newsom of San Francisco have brought upon this state a 47 billion dollar budget crash, which now they expect the taxpayers to bail them out. We need new Mayors we can trust as, WALTER MOORE, who will KILL LOS ANGELES ‘SANCTUARY’ CITY POLICY.
We need Mayors, judges or other elected officials that will be spending your money, to support the taxpayers—not the settlement of illegal aliens.
