Writer urges change in delegate race

Bud Phillips has sat comfortably as a delegate in the Second District for too long. This district is composed of Dickenson County and parts of Wise and Russell counties.
The Republican party membership in the three counties has endorsed a write-in candidate for the office. Gary Dotson is a strong, conservative, Christian candidate. He has 38 years of coal mining experience. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s College at Wise with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Dotson is highly qualified to fill the position, and is a Vietnam Veteran. Dotson promises an open-door policy on the issues and would be glad to hear from you.
I ask the readers in these three counties to stop and think: Do we want things to remain the same or do we want someone new in office? Please write in Gary Dotson for the House of Delegates, Second District, in Virginia.

Mark J. Matney
Cleveland, Va.

It amazes me how taken in everyone is by a politician. You could care less about the 10 commandments and wont listen to God but you will listen to these goons. Bud Phillips is worthless. The other guy you mentioned is just as worthless if he throws his hat into the political arena. You people will belive anything those monkeys tell you. I shouldnt be putting down a monkey like that though. A monkey has tons more brains and common sense than Bud Phillips or any politician for that matter. Its time we send a message and stop voting. All we get is one liar after another in office. Take your elephant and donkey and fly away on em cause i dont belive a word any politician says. Its like beliving satan. A politician is nothing more than a con artist. Wake up people. Lets have a revolution and overtake these offices.
