Writer thinks health care stance a game-changer
I recently read your headline article of Oct. 21, about the final gubernatorial debate having “no game-changing instant” with great interest. I find the fact that Bob McDonnell flatly opposes health care reform extremely interesting. I can only hope that anyone who reads this or is reading it in my letter will find his opposition to health care reform “game-changing.”
If the fact that the former highest elected law officer in the state of Virginia doesn’t know the U.S. Constitution any better than to suggest we tax the citizens of the state of North Carolina to use our highways isn’t a game-changer, I can only hope his opposition to something as important as health care reform will be.
The commonwealth of Virginia has consistently been rated as one of the best managed states for business in the country since the governor’s chair has been occupied by a Democrat. Let’s keep it that way by voting for Creigh Deeds on Nov. 3. Don’t regret your vote for the next four years.
The present coalition of the state and federal economy isn’t the fault of Gov. Tim Kaine or President Barack Obama. It was handed to them by the former White House occupant. Remember?

kdr1—which is more important: A man tells you he will raise taxes, another man tells you he will not-then does? Which is more important—a man knows there is a Virginia south of Roanoke-or a man that makes the statement that Hampton Roads is more congested and needs the money more than the rural counties in the state.Look around-you can’t get much more rural than here.
kdr1—how can anyone base something as important as their electing their officials on something as flimsy as ‘implying’what they intend? There intent should be written in stone and implemented strictly. Sure, there will be some sway,but drag them back in line by ‘the hair of their heads’. Something has to be done to get HONEST officials in our govt’.

Yes, it does matter what he is implying. I apologize for my “flaming liberal” comment. That may have been a poor choice of words on my account. You made several statements about politicians posting their platform. They generally do give their platform, but like Mr. Jones they give an impression and have other motives in mind. That is why what they imply matters, so an evaluation of their statements is always warranted. All politicians give do’s and do not’s but rarely follow through.
kdr1—does it matter what he was implying? Still no reason for name calling. There is enough of that on TV and in the papers. That is exactly why I can’t decide who to vote for. Party lines mean nothing to me. I try to vote for the one I feel will do his(or her) best job for me.Maybe it would help if each man would write his platform and publish it. At least, it would be in black and white. Kind of like making a do and don’t list. None of the people running for office anymore can be trusted as far as you can throw them,unless you live north of Roanoke.

I am pointing out his deception. He never had any intentions of voting for Bob McDonnell. If you will read his letter, he is giving the impression he would support him if he backed obamacare. If you read further down his letter he shows his true colors. I was merely pointing out the motivations of the letter. I would absolutely respect the mans choice, thats not the intent of my post. He should have been honest and said i am a democrat and will not vote for a republican. That would have been a more respectable position.

I like how you give the impression that you considered voting for Bob McDonnell. You sir are a liberal who for whatever reason are trying to convince us you are non-partisan. Your statements later in your article give it away. I have zero respect for someone who tries to give a false self- characterization. Why dont you just be honest and admit your a flaming liberal. At least being honest is respectful, but obviously your neither truthful or worthy of respect.
