Writer Supports Prayer To Bolster Student Ethics

I have read the recent letters about prayer in schools and the ACLU. I am in favor of having prayer and the Bible in schools because it would help revive ethics and morals in this great nation.
I also believe the ACLU’s aversion to having anything religious or church-related in public goes back to the ACLU’s founder Roger Nash Baldwin. It seems that Roger Baldwin was a communist, or at least had communist leanings, and therefore he was opposed to religion.
I believe in the First Amendment right to freedom of religion and freedom of speech as stated in the U.S. Bill of Rights. As of the separation of church and state, Thomas Jefferson said it was to keep the state out of the church, and not the church out of the state. I believe he wrote that in a letter to a group of preachers in 1805, while he was still president.

Just go ahead and pray!  Jesus did.  Whenever you find a post condemning public prayer, most of the time you can find out why they are opposed to Christian prayer is simply to look at the spelling of their last name!
