Writer revisits Biblical argument with Cowan
Several things become apparent while reading Vince Cowan’s letters:
His favorite way to defend his religious views is to charge those who ask difficult questions with making a fumbling attempt to discredit God’s word.
He extends the bounds of language and logic when he suggests that questions and misunderstandings do not count as questions and misunderstandings if they are being progressively received.
He ignores the contradiction between saying that the Bible does not lend itself to different interpretations, and saying that “today’s quide to truthful interpretation of the Bible is the Holy Ghost.”
He says his faith is based on God’s word, not someone’s personal observations.
He asserts that the King James Bible is the preserved word of Almightly God, and that all of the numerous modern day Bible versions were translated from flawed manuscripts.
But since it doesn’t say that in the King James Bible and since he doesn’t rely on someone’s personal observations in such matters, one can’t help but wonder just how he managed to come up with that interesting bit of information.
Since Mr. Cowan was puzzled about the meaning of the observation that “personal experience determines the extent of theological aspirations,” this illustration is offered: If you are convinced that you got what you prayed for, you will be likely to pray again.

And above all, don’t forget that the man responsible for the creation of this version of the “holy” bible, King James, was a homosexual.
Then again, what’s wrong with being homosexual?
Answer: NOTHING, unless you happen to live around a bunch of bible-thumping pseudo Christians.
In the “holy” bible Jesus never condemned homosexuality.
The two tirades against homosexuality in Romans 1 and I Corinthians 6 were written by the “apostle” Paul (Saul) who probably concocted the blinding light story to get in on the act just like some of today’s televangelists.
Paul (Saul) never even met the pre-crucifixion Christ.
For a discussion on whether Jesus was also homosexual, check out the following website link whiich presents both sides of the argument:
WAS/IS YESHUA OF NAZARETH
(JESUS CHRIST) GAY?

Just like being right or left handed, some people are born straight and some are born gay or lesbian.
Exactly Oldman. That particular version, just as the others was put together by a group of men. Men who played the day to day politics of the time and utilized Christianity as a powerful weapon for growth of wealth and power.
Jesus Christ had 12 known diciples. He specifically chose these men to propogate his message after he ascended to heaven. The funny thing: 95% of the “New Testament” is void of the words and/or writings of 90% of these men. Christ specifically said that Peter was the rock on which Christ would build his church, yet, he gets only one small book in the King James version and Paul gets pretty much the rest. The point is: it is utterly ridiculous to assert that a book compiled by the politicians of the day is somehow the “true” word of God. Unless of course, we can presume that in those days, powerful men didn’t do things to further their own power.
I only took 19 months for some 2100 people to decide what to put in the King James Version of the Bible and what to leave out.
What a joke. If is truely the word of God then why isn’t everything in there ?
