Writer Compares Obama To Britain’s Chamberlain
The award of the Nobel Piece Prize to President Barack Obama based on his stated lofty goals of peace and a new era of global security is reminiscence of Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister of Britain, who in June 1938 returned to Great Britain waiving a copy of the Munich Agreement and declaring “peace in our time.” At Hitler’s demand, that agreement required Czechoslovakia to give up a fifth of its land and most of its industrial base to Nazi Germany; yet it also provided western Europe, principally England and France, a respite from its fears of German rearmament.
As we know, 15 months later Nazi Germany invaded Poland which initiated World War II.
Peace and security is attained by either enforceable treaties and security pacts, a strong military, or a combination of both; not just lofty visions and goals.

Scott-
You make a point about the barbs.
Fact is. aggression begets aggression on here- I apologize for reacting.
I’ll turn it off. That’s not my usual nature- just tired of being shot with ridiculous assumptions.
Thank you for the reminder.
Yes, CS, but you and the others have guiven up on any semblance of gracious speech in order to make your point with the sharpest barbs available. GWB was a horrible president, as was Clinton and mostof the ones before them back as far as memory serves. No politician is a statesman any longer. They are all just power hungry maniacs who do the bidding of the moneied people who put them in power. The system is broken. Those who think otherwise are very naive. Those who clamor for entitlements without demanding accountability from the people they want to see get benefitted are mistaken. Perhaps they should be the first in line to volunteer giving away all of their earthly goods instead of insisting that the public trough be used. On the other side, those who are foolish enough to think that big business is going to take care of them or this country when times get tough are barking up the wrong tree. We need more people who will go into business for themselves and participate in a local economy and tell the rest of these parasites where to get off. Forget globalism and worry about our own communities.
J Todd-
How can you possibly resist the subject of tax deductions for providing health care to pets, and taxing health care provided to people?
Let me get this straight—-
Congress is talking about taxing the expenses of Health care provided to certain citizens; yet, they are also talking about providing a tax DEDUCTION for providing health care to pets?
Dogs, cats, fish, snakes?
Congress…........................
I don’t know Scott- the old adage ‘don’t shoot the messenger’ is an old phrase for a reason. The power hungry just attack, shoot and demonize the opposition because they don’t care to defend the reasoning behind decisions.
case in point. In health care reform, why doesn’t tort reform have a place in the process? Because the Dem Party has already dubbed that a Repub. idea. Therefore, let’s just ignore it.
Who looses in that scenario? we do- every one of us regardless of left, right, or middle.
Party domination is sickening and WE are the ones responsible for it- those of us who do vote, and those who do not vote.
EVERY ONE OF US !
I don’t know why I find it so amazing given the characters involved, but these posts always deteriorate into personal attacks on the other side instead of looking for common ground and real solutions. Pleae step back and face the truth—both dems and repubs have screwed up this nation and we need a third solution outside of the box. Both parties are controlled by special interests and lobbyists who have ruined what we have for a government. Both sides promise benefits to their constitutents to buy votes. In the meantime, the individual is losing personal freedom and choice as the parties in power take from the average citizen to give awards to those who elected them. When will we wake up, take responsibility for our own lives and kick the bums out who keep giving us more of the same old corruption?
You’re right about Hill- he supports the positions of ALL black people whether right, wrong, legal or illegal- that’s true racism. We have several in Congress too.
Oh wow, how could I have left those fellas out? And what about Mark Lamont Hill? I don’t think he’s ever discussed anything that didn’t go directly to extreme racism.
Thanks for the additional names of race hustlers.
farmer-
Don’t forget Van Jones, Rev Wright and all the racists in his Administration…
not to mention Congress.
Thanks fdr wuzright,
Your pointing out that the term “race hustler” isn’t very original was most appropriate. That’s precisely my point to bbart (Race Hustler). His worn out techniques have been around for far too long.
Let’s see…...Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Charlie Rangel, etc. I could go on and on, but I trust you get the picture. Those types, as well as bbart, seem to sniff out racism in all situations.
To another subject briefly, is Global Warming the cause for all these toasty temperatures we’re experiencing around the country? The low 50s in Florida and the 30s in Georgia in October? I bet Al Gore has taken his environment friendly jet to a nice warm spot. What do you think?
