‘Times’ Have Changed, But God Has Not
Recently there has been media coverage about gay rights saying we need to accept their lifestyle because times have changed. Well, if this be the case then we should accept the fact that people are killing people and children are being abused and murdered, because after all, times have changed and this is a part of life.
God has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. It was wrong in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah and it is wrong today.
Homosexuals do not have a problem telling President Obama (or anyone who will listen) what they stand for and what they want. It’s time we as God’s people do the same. Christians need to stand up for what is right. We need to let the world know that Jesus is still on his throne.
Ask yourself “Is this my last day on earth?” Please take heed, eternity is just a heartbeat away.

As I previously wrote, I agree with Thomas Jefferson in his appraisal of the Book of Revelation, which he considered “the ravings of a maniac, no more worthy nor capable of explanation than the incoherences of our own nightly dreams.“
If Christ was a “messiah,“ he came for the Jews, not us Gentiles. No. I do not accept the “vision” of a man on the road as the Gentile ticket of admission to the fold.
The bible is just a book. Why do you worship it? If a supreme being existed, and if he/she wanted you to have an authentic book of instructions, the clouds would open today, and such books would fall from the sky.
Your “holy” bible is not the one.
They would each have inscription: “Copyrighted by God. Do not dare change a word!“
Such is not the case. The bible you worship is neither holy nor extensively factual. It is just a book, a book written and changed by men for their own purposes of holding power over the rest of the population.
In the words of the little children’s song we sang in church as we grew up, The Bible tells me so.“
A test of fact or fiction is whether prophecies of the Bible have come true. Many have, but skeptics say that the Bible was written after these came true and was just writing history. Contraire, the last prediction was the reestablishment of Israel as a nation, which happened over two thousand years later in 1948. By the way, this is one of the last before Armageddon and the second coming of Christ.
There is also the Living Bible, which means those who have been saved get spiritual revealings for their own personal lives as they read various passages. This I know is a fact.
I have studied the bible for enough years to learn the following:
It is not holy, not factual, and, most of all, not the work of a supreme being you chose to call “God.“
Why do so many of you worship it like an idol? It is just a book of fables and inaccurate re-tellings of the words and actions of folks, hundreds of years and dozens of generations after their deaths.
It has been altered many times over the years by scribes, priests, popes, kings, and emperors.
Accurate?
I think not.
Historical fiction?
There you go!
After years of reading experts books, webs, etc I find that if you really want to know what the Bible says, go read the bible and find out the truth. This web site is a good on-line source.

Whitehorse1011, thank you for your backhanded compliment….could I ask why you think I’m weird?
Commonsense, thank you for commenting on my post. Like you, I’m not here to debate religion, but the importance of equal rights. You suggest campaigning to the IRS. Tax laws are only a few of the issues. Social Security benefits is a big one for me, as well as spousal rights in situations such as hospitalization. Domestic partners (and we’re not just talking about gay people here, but straight people as well who are not married) have been denied visitation in hospitals. Even in states where civil unions grant partners such, hospital personnell don’t always grant it.
Civil unions, at this time, do not carry the same significance that marriage does, and in cases like the one mentioned above, are completely ignored. That is why we push for marriage. Why didn’t black people just sit in the back of the bus and drink from their own water fountains and not offend all the nice white people? Because they knew they were equal.
In states where civil unions are granted and benefits and rights to go along with it, things like tax filing status and Social Security survivor benefits are blocked by the Defense of Marriage Act at the federal level.
You say the purpose of a marriage is to procreate. I need to tell my sister who is getting married next month. You see, her nor her fiance intend to have children.
I’m not bothered with the semantics of civil union vs. marriage. If DOMA can be repealed and unlock ALL benefits to domestic partners in civil unions, I’m all for it. Doesn’t have to be “marriage” as far as I’m concerned…just equal.
jctnguy: VERY well-said. I’ve never thought about it from that perspective. Extremely compelling idea.
We christians love you gay people no matter how wierd you are and will pray for you. Hey don’t worry we are wierd ourselves in many different ways. Jesus loves us and will save each and every one us if we will let him, no matter how strange we are.
christians are hippocrates and bigots. They twist things around to benefit them at the time and place of their choosing. Why can’t they let people live the way they were born.Since you people are so much against abortions, why don’t you adopt a child that someone was going to abort ? Instead of talking about how bad it is. What if you found out that your fetus was going to be gay what would you do, ( wwgd )? You never know what others are going through until you’re in their shoes. Open your minds.
