President Deserves Respect

» 55 Comments | Post a Comment

The discontent being expressed about our country and our president is quite disturbing. The lack of respect shown to our president by parents who did not permit their children to hear his speech was evidence of teaching disrespect for authority with parental approval. Respect is the core of family values.

There are those who make obscene statements and compare our president to the communist and Nazi parties. I have been to Russia and have seen six-story apartment buildings where everyone lives in the towns and only a select few are allowed to own property. There is no free enterprise and one does not question authority, let alone protest against it. We have only to read about the Holocaust and the extermination of millions of people by Hitler and his regime to remind us of the Nazi horrors.

The Social Security Act was passed in 1935, and signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, with very little Republican support. In 1965, the Medicare program was passed during the presidency of Lyndon Johnson under the same conditions. Our citizens awaited eagerly the time when they will be eligible for both benefits. Neither program has proven to be meddlesome or intrusive in our lives, as some charge.

We should question the propaganda aired every day by the right wing media, which creates confusion and succeeds in developing a culture of hatred in the process. The framers of our Constitution were concerned not only about our freedoms, but the tyranny of the mob. Mob mentality can have disastrous results.

It is time we think about the universal need of health care and not of partisan politics or racial bias. We have a very capable president who is well-educated in constitutional law and who has served as a professor of law at the University of Chicago law school. Perhaps we should allow him to do the job he promised and we elected him to do.

I guess she missed the eight years Bush was treated wih nothing but contempt and disrespect. Ill bet she had no problem with that. Parents dont want the type of thing that happened in New Jersey last week. Students were singing songs about Obama. One of the songs they sang was Jesus loves the littlte children except Jesus was relaced with Obama. The could not have sung the original in a public school; what hypocrasy!

Well i guess she knows what to expect.

What about the propaganda we here every day from the mainstream media? They promote Obama’s agenda on a daily basis, and consider themselves objective.

If we disagree, then we are racist? Now that is creating confusion and creating hatred. That is the liberal tactic. They want us to agree and if we dont, well then we are racist.

Hazel
I’m so very sorry for questioning our President right along with Chavez, Khadaffy, and Ahmedinejad.

Let’s all follow MSNBC and give him a free pass on everything- even his Cap & Trade, transfer od Gitmo family folks to US cities, trillion(s) dollar deficits, all his corrupt cronies, and especially his tax reform dressed in the clothing of health reform.

He never lies, never mis-leads us, never omits pertinent items in his continuing campaign and we should be ashamed of ourselves.

Frankly, the majority of America agrees that we need to improve health care system in America but a majority also believes that this is not the improvemed system we need.

I do hope you can learn to distinguish the two and get things in context.

...and when you go to church today, be sure to pray ‘for’ him; not, ‘to’ him..
He needs it…

Morrell, attend church today. Be sure and take your King James Bible with you, the one you were raised with and your fore fathers before you.

Ms. Morrell, You could have said the same things about President Bush. As you know, Bush left office with a 36% approval rating. Obamas’ approval rating is currently at 50% in only 9 months. Perhaps the American family is not as intrigued with Obama as much as you are. I take it you are a loyal Obama supporter and that is well and good, but please do not measure my corn in your bushel basket.

What about Obamas’ involvement with ACORN ? What about Obamas’ Involvement with Jerimiah Wright who said in his sermon “Goddam America”? What about Obamas’ involvement with Lewis Farrakan whose goal is to become the nations number one black leader in the name of Islam ? Times have changed since 1935 !!!!
