No power can defeat Israel as chosen people

» 63 Comments | Post a Comment

We read in 1 Samuel 17 about Israel and the Philistines which were in battle by the valley of Elah. There was a valley between them. Israel was on one side of the mountain and the Philistines were on the other side of the mountain.

This story tells about the giant, Goliath, coming down and daring the Israelites to send a man to fight him. David was the youngest son of Jesse and he was sent with food for his brothers who were fighting with Israel. David volunteered to fight Goliath and of course he slew him with nothing but a slingshot and a stone. God was on his side.

Today, we see fighting going on between Israel and the terrorists of Hezbollah. This could be a forerunner of what is about to happen with Iran coming against Israel, as Goliath attempted. The Israelites, by the hand of God, will be victorious once again. There is no power or combination of powers that can defeat Israel. They are God’s chosen people.

Before making any judgment about Israel, you should learn more about that country.  Try visiting this website for starters:

Next, consider that the biblical Jesus never tried to “save” the Gentiles.  He came for the Jews.

If you believe that you can join the “chosen people” and get in on their supposed eternal heavenly bliss, try reading Genesis 34.

The bible is a book of fables, murder, fantasy, and political tripe.  There are some good moral lessons within its pages as well.  It is neither historically true nor the word of some “god.“ Over the centuries it has been altered hundreds of times by various rabbis, priests, popes, scribes, pagan emperors, mothers of pagan emperors, and one English King.

Ah yes, but who is Israel???
Matthew 23:37,38,39
O Jerusalen Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets and stonest them which are sent to thee…read it. Your house is left to you desolate. How about the fig tree? If you want to talk about a fig tree, try Matthew 21:19 “Let no fruit grow on thee from henceforward forever.“ keyword forever.
Try this, Romans 2:28,29 read it all for context but the Truth is that after Steven was stoned, the seventy weeks which were especially determined for “thy people and thy holy city” Daniel 9:24, were finished and the gospel, rejected by the Jews as a nation, went to the gentiles, Jerusalem was destroyed in 70ad and has no further significance. Israel is a name given to Jacob after he struggled with the Angel of the Lord and prevailed, Genesis 32:28. Have you struggled with the Lord and prevailed? Are you forgiven your sins? If yes; you are Israel. I hope you will hear this in the spirit of love.

common,

You referenced re-incarnation earlier, i have a thought about that belief. If re-incarnation is a system of paying for sins of a previous life, then what was the re-incarnationist paying for in their very first life. That belief does not hold up very well with a close look at their doctorine.

Yes, ‘Freedom’ is always the ‘Battle Cry’ and self justification of those who believe they are relieved from social responsibility by their lack of morality.

Open, uncontrolled, unlimited abortion is a perfect example.  But where is the Judge of our culture- it will come.

I believe Huxley however much i disagree with his philosophy was honest about his atheistic belief and the motives for his belief. I believe most atheist follow that line of thinking purely for moral or their dislike of morals. This quote from Huxley is very telling.

“I had motives for not wanting the world to have meaning; consequently assumed it had none, and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption . The philosopher who finds no meaning in the world is not concerned exclusively with a problem in pure metaphysics; he is also concerned to prove there is no valid reason why he personally should not do as he wants to do… For myself, as no doubt for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation. The liberation we desired was simultaneously liberation from a certain political and economic system and liberation from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom.“

The subject of this article was Israel being God’s chosen people. That is a biblical statement for those who believe. God does say in the bible that he will defend Israel, because they are the chosen ones. According to the article above, this blog is suppose to be for the people that actually believe, and make a discussion on the biblical prophecy concerning that. At least that was my take on it. A non- believer can’t hardly have a take on the bible prophecy that they don’t believe in, in the first place.

common - I haven’t defended my beliefs once in this entire thread.  But I will say that at least I don’t throw all of the as-of-yet unexplainable onto the fantasy pyre and wash my hands of it.
