‘I Like Ike’ Applies To Ike Mumpower

In the 1950s during the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, we often heard the words “I Iike Ike” being said. That was the sentiment of many of us. Today we have another IKE on the scene. Not in a political sense, but rather one who has made a success of a business. Ike Mumpower has made a successful sign business in the old Valley Institute High School building.
I have known him for many years and find him to be a very decent and honorable man. His use of the old school building is very gratifying to those of us who attended school there in the 1930s.
The recent newspaper story about his idea of supporting the troops was typical of his character. It would certainly be great if big business would follow his example.
Because of this story I can resurrect the words of the 1950s and say very respectfully, “I Like Ike.”

Rep. Mumpower is a strong supporter of father’s rights.  He’s got my vote every time.
