Help Available To Understand Scripture
Take time to think how many years have passed since the first translation of the Scriptures.
The original manuscripts were penned thousands of years ago.
Sometimes we don’t have English words that have the exact same meaning.
We rely on the translators who can understand the original languages of the Bible. For instance, “perfect” translates “mature,” in current words, translators say.
If we apply ourselves, we can understand with a concordance and a Bible dictionary. Many pastors help now.

BJ38, I’m sorry your experience with church has been so negative. There are a lot of bad churches out there, just as there are a lot of bad individuals. We are all sinners and no one is perfect. While your arguments have merit on the surface, I question their veracity. One thing that the scripture teaches about the church is that it is the bride of Christ. It’s unfortuante that sometimes she seems to be wearing red instead of white, but she is his bride, nonetheless. Christ never saved individuals to be their own little lone rangers. It is for the purpose of becoming part of His bride. Christ doesn’t have millions of brides, meaning you, me, and every other Christian. He has one bride, of which every true Christian is a member. One thing the church offers is accountability, which means that if i were to start messing with another woman, my church would exercise Biblical discipline on me. They would call me to repent, and if I refused, they would insist that I leave. The fact that the churches you mentioned did that with their pastors could be construed as a good thing, an example of the church purging itself of sinful elements. If someone tries to be a Christian without the church, I am not saying they cannot be saved, but I would have serious doubts about the genuineness of their conversion, since they were unwilling to submit to Godly authority. I’ll pray for your situation.
How about this. Churches suck. God rules, his churches are falling apart. Its a fact. I have been to 2 churches in the past 4 years in which the pastor has been let go due to messing around with a woman other than his wife. What does this say about our churches? No they arent perfect but a church should be more perfect than the outside world. Anyone who uses the ole excuse of noone is perfect is only wanting to do what they want with no consequences for their actions. We should all strive to be perfect like God. But we dont have to go to church to do that. We can worship at home, in our cars, or whenever we want. Although this is not reccommended at work or school or anywhere near a government building for you will surely be giluteened. Churches are now reaping what they have sewn for all these years. About time i say. You can still get to heaven without going to church. It doesnt say in the bible if thow goes to church thow will go to heaven. It says if thow belived God sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins thow shall be saved. ITs time these churches got their act together or be classified as cults and shut down. For thats what most of them are, cults.
Actually, Oldman, the passage reads that, “the love of money is the root of all evil.“ Money itself is neutral; it’s what people will do to get ot that s the problem.
So “ Money is the root of all evil “ can mean “ Hate the poor” or “ Rape, Rob, and Kill to get Money “ ?
Maybe “ Money is your God”?
Will “You shall not make for yourself an Idol “ mean “ Worship Gold “ ?
