Animals need kindness, care to best survive
The many articles concerning the animal shelter were very sad and many people were disturbed by them. So was I, but there are many things going on in an animal’s life that are worse than being put to sleep.
My wish is to see that laws are made and enforced to protect the animals that are in homes that seem to not include the animal as part of the family. I drive by a house every day that has a beautiful dog chained 24-7 beside a broken down dog house. This occurs in all types of weather and the dog has very little human contact. I don’t want to see this dog go through another winter where it is left out in the snow, rain and wind. I have been told it is a water dog and doesn’t mind this life. But I have been told by my veterinarian that if I am cold outside, so is my animal; and if I am too hot, so is my animal. There should be laws to protect animals from this happening.
Children need to be informed about how to treat animals. The articles may have upset some children, but it also taught a lesson on what can happen when too many dogs or cats breed and where those animals wind up. If children are not taught kindness or compassion toward animals, the children will grow up to do the same thing. These are worse things than being put to sleep in a kind and humane manner and Dr. Basil Jones feels real compassion for these animals. Everyone should give proper care to their pets and make them part of their family. Isn’t that why you got the animal in the first place? Animals give so much for so little in return. All they ask is a warm place to sleep, food to eat and human love.

Cat Lady-
That’s very non-constructive ma’am. I am not offended by you calling me an idiot, but if you believe that I like to hear your reasoning.
Regardless, in reality, you are saying that abortion is a ‘personal choice’, however, you also believe that neutering your pets is “not a personal choice” but should be required by the state and one should be fined (taxed) $400. for non-compliance.
You are staunchly defending the partially developed animal, yet completely condemning the undeveloped human. Can you explain the juxtaposition?
Also, Would you care to explain why you think I’m an idiot given YOUR conflict?
I don’t understand…

BE SURE TO READ THE ARTICLE ON THE CONDO FIRE ON THE FRONT PAGE- A CAT DIED IN THE BLAZE—-
But ignore the 115,000 children that will be killed today in abortions…
No, Quite the contrary.
I’m in support of many good things.
I am though, just a bit put out by all the heartfelt statements here by animal lovers who get all fired up about animals put to sleep when children are being killed every day through abortions.
Also, when you jump on the bandwagon suggesting a $400 TAX to have a pet?
You’re absolutely crazy. Is that your answer to everything?
Tax??
You are a control freak, that’s all-
commonsense (or lack of it)
Is there anything you don’t have an issue with? You must be the most unhappy person I ever heard from.
You should be held down and “teabagged” repeatedly until your face turns blue for your idiot mindset and negativity toward everyone who post here.
another complete ‘control freak’, but what about abortion? Childrens’ lives.
Bit of a contradiction in your mind…
As a multiple pet owner I think there should be a licence or register on all pets and large tax (around 400 dollars per year) on cats and dogs that are able to reproduce. I think that there should be an assisted spay and neuter program provided by the animal control. I also believe that all fees and taxes be waved if your pet is fixed. I believe that the revenue generated by these taxes should assist the spay and neuter assist program.
Some pets have issues with collars and not all pets can wear them. Chips ID-ing the pet should be an option.
