Insult to ‘Deliverance’ cast

Great Googlymoogly! Virginia state Sen. [Dick] Saslaw compared some gun nuts to the cast of "Deliverance!" That’s an insult to the cast of "Deliverance." Saslaw should immediately apologize to the surviving cast members of that fine film. A more apt movie comparison would have been comparing the gun nuts to the cast of the "Exorcist" or the "Amityville Horror," and I don’t mean a comparison with those films’ good guys.

Whilst on the subject of "Deliverance," considering the level of conversations I hear whenever I tune by one our humble burg’s right-wing yap radio stations, I mutter to myself, "Self, those gas bags ought to be using the theme from ‘Deliverance’ for their bumper music." That’s the appropriate comparison for a "Deliverance" reference.

Now that the Herald Courier’s esteemed opinion page editor has joined the cast of right-wing nuts in condemning Saslaw, I reckon I’ll be saying to myself, "Bad opinion page editor. Bad!" whenever I read yet another lame "the evolution of the eye, global warming is a myth, yadda, yadda, blah, blah" letter that she has published.
