Too many billboards

Excellent report on these "ugly" billboards plastering [Washington] County. There is nothing wrong with a few, but the number that has gone up is unreal. Somehow it looks like a point was being made. I can’t put billboards up in the town [of Abingdon], so I’ll put 10 times the number up in the county just to show that I got my way.

They are ugly and distracting. The number of billboards already erected is more than enough to fill the highway from here to Kingsport, not from Abingdon to Exit 7.

Whoever advised that this was a great investment must have thought there was 100 miles of roadway not 10. Shame on the county for approving this number of billboards.
