Insulting the working class
Some candidates have done their best to run a clean, fair campaign and then there is Mark Graham. He is running for clerk of the Circuit Court in Washington County against current clerk Tricia Phipps. His campaign has been an insult from the beginning to the end to the working class.Phipps is a hardworking clerk with many years of on the job experience. She has spent many years learning every aspect of running the clerk’s office. Graham has attacked the staff of the clerk’s office with comments about their education.
Maybe it is true that all of the clerk’s office staff do not have degrees from major universities, but they have much more expertise than Graham and all of his fancy degrees. The knowledge and experience in the current clerk’s office could nowhere near be matched by Graham and his little group of cronies.
I am asking that all of us who are just hardworking people in this county take a stand and support Phipps on Nov. 6. Do not allow this office to be won with hollow words and empty promises.
Tricia Phipps is aware of the need to add new technology to the clerk’s office and is anxious to do anything possible to make the office an example of excellence to the rest of the state. I pray that voters will not be deceived by the smooth words of a candidate with no experience to back up anything he has promised. The working people have been kicked aside long enough by silver-tongued politicians who only say what their supporters want to hear. Wherever their bread is buttered that is where they will be.
Phipps knows that her bread is buttered by the hardworking citizens of Washington County and I will be supporting her on Nov. 6. I ask you to join me in sending a message to those who think they are above the regular hardworking Americans.
