Retired Marine urges strict adherence to Constitution

Two hundred thirty three years ago, a group of extraordinary men gave us what no country ever had before or since, a free nation predicated upon one principle – that all rights come from our creator, not man.
They further set rules of living in freedom, to halt all those who would prohibit it or take it away from us. This is what our U.S. Constitution is all about. The Founding Fathers put this responsibility in our hands. We the people are to be vigilant in keeping an eye on those elected to legislate in accordance, upon their oath, to the U.S. Constitution. Have we honored those Founding Fathers and colonials who gave up their families, their fortunes and, in many cases, their lives to give us liberty? I don’t think so.
I have been a well-traveled man and am retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after more than 20 years of honorable service. I have been a student of history – politically, theologically and militarily – for 36 years. I took seriously the advice of our Founders to be vigilant. With that being said, I come to the heart of the matter: This country no longer resembles or exhibits the Founders’ principles of the rights and liberties of the individual. Government has exceeded its constitutional limits.
Ask yourself if you are better now than 10 years ago or better than your father or grandfather. These two generations kept more of their hard earned money; you don’t. Now for the vinegar: It’s your fault. Narcissistic, pleasure seeking and plain just don’t give a damn attitude has contributed to an out of control spending government. Remember, corrupt, evil, wicked men will always lie, steal, cheat and use every means available to keep the money rolling in and their positions solidified. When they stupefy, mystify and mislead you, the American taxpayer, to believe in their ideology, and it certainly isn’t what our Founders firmly expressed in all their documented records, then it becomes a matter of time before we become what our Founders detested – a nation like all others, our rights gone and no happiness.
As I led your sons for more than 20 years, I constantly used one phrase to them: I challenge you. I use it again to my fellow Americans. This is our nation. We are responsible for it being corrupt. George Washington stated that our Constitution is for a virtuous and moral people. When the people are no longer virtuous and moral, the country will fall. What our elected officials need is what they fear: a United States. This means Americans united to tell them they are not doing the job; Americans who want the oath of office strictly adhered to. A Constitutional amendment would ensure this. The liars of government fear nothing, so give them something to fear – a population that wants the Constitution followed to the letter.
Now for those spin jockeys who will write their opinions based on Internet Web sites like Wikipedia, because they are too lazy to do the historical research, let me say that I am saddened by your lack of vigilance. Remember we inherited our country from those who did the suffering? Isn’t it about time you gave them your time? Expect to be ridiculed and wrongly perceived. Our Founding Fathers endured this and worse from England and all the money loving powers that tried to prevent them from declaring their freedom and to keep them taxpayers to those who were corrupt.
Today is no different. We are all still slaves to the powerful who employ false spending in government. Our taxes keep them enjoying a privileged life for themselves and their families. Let us show the world that we are carrying on the torch of liberty and being the vigilant Americans our Founders envisioned us to be. We must exercise our Constitutional rights to file grievances and petitions of unfair, unconstitutional laws.
Thomas Jefferson feared the Supreme Court would make law instead of applying it. The Supreme Court is to apply the law and not reinterpret what has already been plainly stated.
If we are so free and better off, why doesn’t our lifestyle mirror the first 100 years after our founding? Life was hard, but fair, pleasant and successful and government stayed out of our personal lives. Today families are working themselves to death just to maintain the basic necessities in an age where tax, tax and tax is the cry from our government.
Unconstitutional spending is not to be tolerated. The U.S. Constitution is constantly under attack by elected officials who trample it, after swearing to follow and obey it. They despise it because it prevents them from complete control of every American life. Let’s sound the message that enough is enough. Get involved and let’s rally to our Constitution; then look up and we might just find the propitious smiles of our Founders.

No, I don’t have any ideas except to become better informed during future elections concerning the people who will be running for office.  I can’t control the past but I can certainly try for a better future.

But then no President or Population have ever faced $271 Trillion Dollars of bad AAA Investments setting in their countrys banks from massive fraud.

What can you do but fight tooth and nail.

Devalue the dollar by 90 % might save us.

How about you any ideas ?

Hey dadw5boys, where does it say in the Constitution that we have to be subjected to the early morning ramblings of an obsessive man who would rather founder on the past than put his efforts into being a solution for the future.  I’m sorry, but you have ranted and raved on almost every forum and have made it plainly obvious your stance on past leaders and the state of this country.  How about coming up with an idea on how to climb out of the hole our past leaders dug instead of just sitting in the hole and crying about how deep it is.

Some one show me wher Corporate Welfare is in our Constitution .

Show me where removing elected officals in forgien countries is.

Show me where nation building is.

Show me where supporting the National Health Care System of Israel and their Welfare System.

Show me how spending $2.7 Trillion Dollars for Health Care that only cost $910 Billion Dollars is smart ?

Show me where the Justice Department from 2003 to 2008 could allow the RICO LAWS to be broken over 300,000 times and no one in jail ~!

Please show me before the cost of Health Care alone begins forcing cuts in Medicare that will put many Seniors in the streets.

Show me before those Seniors begin filling up hospitals from expousre.

Show me before the USA must declare Bankruptize and DEVALUE THE DOLLAR and prices jump over 200 percent.
Just like Argentina when they tried to Privatize things like our cow boy President did with over 350 % inflation !!!!!!

Mr.Fleig, Thank you for your article. I am hoping you read this, because I have an important question to ask. Have you ever considered getting involved in politics? Mr. Fleig you are the type of person that America needs. Within the next 3-4 months America could change forever. We can’t let this happen.  Thank you for the 20 yrs you have already served and please give the political career more than a passing thought. America , so badly needs a man like you .

An excellent and well thought out article Mr. Fleig, I wish that I could have written that piece so eloquently. For all of our bloggers for once lets treat this great article with respect. Both parties share the blame for the power in D.C. And each cycle they get more bolder and bolder. My Italian grandmother favorite saying was “put them all in a bag, shake them up and they all come out the same” And one of the best ways to prevent that from happening is concerned citizens to become involved. Give more opportunties for new blood with term limits of no more than three terms for Representatives (6 years) and one for Senator (6 years). Stop the lifetime retirement benefits and let them come back home to make a living like the rest of us. Only then will they think before spending like crazy and or creating laws and departments with unchecked authority that hamper our lives and business. And remember everything starts at the local level and works it way up, not the opposite!

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America


Promote the general welfare !!! They gave up everything to give us country. All those who signed put everything they owned and their very lives on the line for other Americans.
And here we are today with the Corporations piting American against American to keeps it’s strangle hold on society for excessive profits.

We have Soldiers in the feild who risk it all daily and only ask in return that Ameicans be civil to one another.

Shame on us all.

I totally agree with you about our Constitution, and even though I was in the army for a short time ( nowhere close to 30 years just the 1 short term ) I took an oath to defend the constitution against all enemies. We now have an Usrper in the office that will not release his background documents and has Attorney’s defending him to keep them away from the U.S. Citizens, and I find that Obama and those helping him (mainly the Democratic party and attorney’s )are guilty of TREASON against the Constitution and the Citizens of our Nation We all need to let them know that we see their act of treason and will not let it go foward and intend to bring them to justice but we need an organizer. If you find such a group I’m ready to stand and show them we do control our nations freedom and I have a good many that would stand all so.
