Wellmont Health System’s Marsh Regional Blood Center will conduct public blood drives at the following locations in the coming days:

·      Tuesday, Oct. 13, 9-11 a.m., Kysor Panel, Piney Flats

·      Tuesday, Oct. 13, 12-3:30 p.m., Modern Forge, Piney Flats

·      Tuesday, Oct. 13, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Sullivan East High, Bluff City

·      Wednesday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Mountain Empire Community College, Big Stone Gap, Va.

·      Wednesday, Oct. 14, 4-8 p.m., New Victory Baptist Church, Jonesborough

·      Wednesday, Oct. 14, 12-6:30 p.m., The Wellness Center, Johnson City

·      Thursday, Oct. 15, 12:30-5 p.m., Bristol Virginia Utilities Board, Bristol, Va.

·      Thursday, Oct. 15, 1-4 p.m., Cardiovascular Associates, Kingsport

·      Friday, Oct. 16, 1-5 p.m., King Pharmaceuticals, Bristol, Tenn.

·      Friday, Oct. 16, 10-11:30 a.m., King Pharmaceuticals Shipping, Bristol, Tenn.

·      Friday, Oct. 16, 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Sprint/Nextel, Bristol, Va.

·      Saturday, Oct. 17, 8 a.m.-12 p.m., Glen Alpine Methodist Church, Kingsport

·      Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wheeler Methodist Church, Blountville

·      Sunday, Oct. 18, 12-5 p.m., Boones Creek Christian Church, Gray

·      Sunday, Oct. 18, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., St. Mary’s Catholic Church

As many as three lives may be saved each time a person donates blood – and an individual’s blood donation to Marsh Regional stays local to help people in this region. Marsh Regional supplies blood to 21 healthcare facilities in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. 

To donate blood, individuals must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. Persons with a cold, sore throat, fever, flu or fever blisters or who are taking antibiotics may not donate. Donors should eat a balanced meal before giving blood.
