University Of Tennessee Officials Test For Swine Flu Cases

  KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - University of Tennessee health officials have sent a few medical samples to Nashville for swine flu testing after 100 students reported flulike symptoms.
    UT officials say they believe the flulike symptoms to be cases of swine flu because they’re spreading much earlier in the school year than seasonal flu. Classes began on Aug. 19.
    The university sent an e-mail to all students advising anyone who experienced symptoms such as fever, headache, body aches, coughing and sore throat to stay at home or in their dorms until after the symptoms cease.
    Students are also being advised not to visit UT’s student health center unless they experience more severe symptoms like vomiting or difficulty breathing.
    Health officials said results of the swine flu testing could take weeks.
