WTFM’s ‘Bras Across The Tri’ Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness

Every 12 minutes a woman looses her life to breast cancer in the United States. Tuesday a local radio station is taking time out to raise breast cancer awareness right here in the tri with an underwear project.

The 98.5 WTFM radio team is collecting brassieres to get the Tri-Cities thinking about breast cancer and motivate women to get mammograms. The radio team plans to string the bras on the outside of their station in Kingsport Tuesday at 3p.m.

It’s part of their month-long “Bras Across The Tri-cities” project in honor of breast cancer awareness month.

The WTFM radio team plans to string approximately 100 bras outside the radio station at three o’clock.

Tri-Cities Wake Up Crew personality Taylor Morgan says the radio team has collected approximately 750 bras so far. They set a goal to get 1,000 bras by October 24th. That’s when they plan to string them up somewhere in downtown Kingsport.

You can donate and drop off bras for the project at one of 11 Tri-Cities area Wal-Marts collecting bras for the cause.
