“I’m thinking about college and every little bit helps, so scholarships, grants, whatever I can get from good grades,“ Burke said.
Lindsey is considering attending East Tennessee State University next year.
“I would like to be a physical therapist, I don’t really want to sit behind a desk, I want to be active,“
Lindsey balances homework with athletics. She plays volleyball and was a member of the 2008-2009 state championship team.
She loves everything about the sport.
“It’s like non stop it just keeps going and going, there’s not really a lot of pauses in it, it’s just fast-paced,“ said Burke.
Lindsey is proud of her accomplishments on the volleyball court, but she’s also honored to be named student of the week and be recognized for her hard work in the classroom.
“It means a lot just to know how that one person who nominated me feels about me. It means a lot to me, I’m real thankful,“ Burke said.
