STUDENT OF THE WEEK: Christian Grissom

Christian Grissom is this week’s student of the week. The Elizabethton High School junior does well in school, but said he’s working even harder this year as he makes plans for a career in the military.
“My grandfather was in the Marines, my dad was in the Air Force,“ Grissom said.
Christian hopes he’ll be accepted into West Point Military Academy.
“That’s been my dream since I was a little kid,“ said Grissom.
Christian may not be in the military yet, but that doesn’t keep him from supporting several veteran causes.
He’s been a junior member of Rolling Thunder for more than two years.
“It really means a lot to be accepted by the veterans that are in the organization,“ Grissom said.
Christian said being involved with Rolling Thunder gives him a true understanding of what many veterans go through.
“We’re pushing for different laws to go through and we’re pushing to help all the veterans coming back from the war now,“ Grissom said.
