Yesterday afternoon a woman and her four-year-old son nearly went into Boone Lake – in the woman’s SUV.

According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Ashley Nicole Brown, 28, of Dartmouth Drive, Bristol, Tenn. went over a guard rail, down a wooded embankment and nearly drove her Chevrolet SUV into Boone Lake.

No one was around the car when the police arrived, they report, but the driver called from a nearby home to report the crash.

Brown and her son were checked by EMS personnel, and officers report that Brown may have been drinking. Officers also found Brown in possession of several unknown pills. She was arrested and charged with DUI, Reckless Endangerment (child), Driving Unregistered Vehicle, and Possession of Controlled Substance.
She remains incarcerated at the Sullivan County Correctional Facility with a $2500 bond.
