A routine traffic stop turned into a prescription drug arrest on Interstate 26, and a Limestone, Tenn. man now faces several drug charges.

The Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department stopped Douglass J. Bussell on westbound I-26 in Unicoi County for speeding early Tuesday morning. Deputies say they discovered Bussell had a suspended license, so they received permission to search his van.

During the search, deputies found 377 Roxicodone pills and 187 Lortab pills, both of which are narcotics.

The Sheriff’s Department says the street value of the pills are approximately $12,000.

Deputies arrested Bussell and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 20th.
