Police confiscated more than $100,000 and made two arrests, but would not release many details surrounding the incident.  They said it was still under investigation.

Investigators did say the two men are suspected of being drug dealers.

During a press conference today, police said they believed the suspects were traveling to New York to make a drug buy, but were pulled over in Kingsport for a minor traffic offense.

Police said they found the cash in a backpack inside the car, along with a small amount of cocaine.

The Drug Enforcement Agency is helping with the investigation, and Kingsport Police said the suspects could face charges in more than one state.

With all due respect, if you do not like the laws (dadw5boys), then lobby your State Legislators to change the law. We (in law enforcement) only enforce the law.

In regards to individuals walking with open containers in Bristol I will say this. With over 175,000 visitors present at the Bristol venue, all of the local law enforcent officers do an excellent job of keeping law and order. If every person was arrested with an open container (at BMS), there would not be enough space in all of the jails combined to hold the violators. Not to mention, all of the Law Enforcement Officers would be dealing with the open containers versus more important issues.

WELL I HATE TO OFFEND BCRESIDENT THAT POSTED HERE BUT DRUGS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HERE AND WILL STILL BE HERE WITH OR WITHOUT A RACE OR ANY OTHER EVENT THAT COMES TO THIS AREA.

BRISTOL IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER PLACE THAT HOST A RACE OR ANY OTHER BIG EVENT.

That is because of the money the races bring in.  Money is evil.  Public drunkeness and the works!  Prime example - I was coming home from work on Friday, the day of the 1st race, and there were three men who had signs staked in their campground lot with the words show us your ...if you get my drift.  I don’t want to offend anyone on here like they offended myself.  If you were to walk down the street with a beer in your hand after the races were gone, you would be arrested!  I don’t understand it!

I am assuming you are referring to the accident with the lady bending down working on a tent and the truck accidentally hit her in Bristol. I do not know either party and my heart goes out to them both but how could you compare a drug stop to an accident. I’ve never driven a large truck but I can see how things could happen. This was an accident. Unfortunately bad things happen to good people. Do not compare the two situations because they are nothing alike.

You get arrested for small amounts of drugs but if you run ober a woman during race night in Bristol you walk away free.
