Bristol Tennessee Police Department

* Someone ran into a Tulip Grove Circle stop sign and fled the scene. Several witnesses told police it might or might not have been a car belonging to a person who lives down the street. Officers went there, and no one was home. A while later, someone called to tell them the “car had returned.” Police found the car in the garage, and the driver admitted to plowing into the sign and leaving because his drivers license had been revoked. He was cited.
* A Locust Road man told police that “his ex-girlfriend calls him constantly and he wants it stopped.”
* Police went to Melrose Street when a man reported that his friend hit him with a shovel handle. Police caught up with the suspected shovel assailant, who said “he was the victim because he was assaulted.” He said he never hit the other guy, “and even allowed us to search his vehicle for the alleged shovel handle.” His son also chimed in that there was no shovel and that his dad never hit anyone with one. Officers “never located the weapon.”
