Bristol Virginia Police Department

Nov. 6

* Just after noon, the Bristol Tennessee Police Department spotted an older fellow in a gray Caprice who appeared to have a case of “road rage,” during which he “brandished a firearm.” Officers caught up with him on Vance Street, but found nothing suspicious.
* A Green Hill Road man came home to find the window of his 1991 Lexus “busted out.”
* While parked in the lot of the Ballpark Corner Market on Randolph Street, a man “punched his wife in the face and threatened to kill her with a hammer.” A passer-by reported the assault at 4:50 p.m., and said the pair were in a white van.
* Someone pulled a vehicle up to a Euclid Avenue gas station’s air compressor, “and stole it.” The caller told police at 7 p.m. that the air bandits left in the direction of West State Street.
* When a couple decided not to stay in the Knights Inn motel room they’d put on a credit card, they demanded a refund in cash. They were offered credit back on their card, but instead went back to the room and would not answer the phone or the door. The motel attendant “felt like they may be up to something inside.”
* A Russell Street resident was worried about a neighbor’s loud party at 11:40 p.m. because “they are using [his] yard as a toilet.”

Nov. 7

* Two “very intoxicated” men were seen on State Street wandering toward the library at 2 a.m.
* A Price Street resident called police at 9:45 a.m. when a neighbor decided to host yet another yard sale because “it’s like the fifth one and they shouldn’t be allowed to have that many.”

Bristol Tennessee Police Department

Nov. 4

* A woman at Corner Pocket Billiards on Edgemont Avenue told police that “her ex-boyfriend tried to start a fight with her new boyfriend,” but there was no physical contact.
* After crossing the Pennsylvania Avenue center line three times, the driver of a silver Chevy Cavalier was arrested for driving under the influence.
* Police went to Carson Court when someone reported that an armed husband and his wife were fighting on their lawn. But when officers arrived, they discovered it was a “false call reported by someone who gave a fake name and fake phone number.” The officer went on to note that the call was believed to be the work of a vengeful neighbor “in retribution” for a 911 call made about him or her earlier in the day.
* Two brothers got into a fight at a trailer park on U.S. Highway 11E, and each told police that he was assaulted by the other. Officers noted that “due to conflicting stories no arrest was made.”
* A Springdale Village Apartments woman called police just before midnight to report two men “threatening to damage car and blow up house” because her daughter declined to give them a ride.

* The Hurricane Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hurricane Baptist Church in Wise. Residents of Hurricane and the surrounding area of Wise are welcome to attend.
