Testing Suspected Cases of Swine Flu in Virginia
Published: April 29, 2009
Virginia health officials soon will be able to test suspected cases of swine flu in state labs.
That would cut down on the time it takes to determine if someone has the disease.
Most testing now is being done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Virginia Department of Health planning director Bob Mauskapf says the state lab will have test kits later this week and local health departments could get them next week, cutting the response time from days to hours.
Mauskapf would not say how many suspected cases of swine flu there were in Virginia. There have been no confirmed cases of swine
flu.

i agree with you
That’s great, but I would like to hear somebody talk about quarantine measures and procedures in case this turns into a full pandemic.I’m reading how fast this is spreading and the President asking Congress for billions of dollars to combat this virus, and it makes me think that this is more serious that we are being told.I have great respect for our President, but like I said we need to quarantine this before many lives are lost to this swine flu.
