Tennessee lawmakers get compensation increase

While faced with a continuing state budget crunch that likely will mean laying off more state employees, Tennessee legislators have received a $14-a-day increase in their compensation for expenses.
Some of them told the Chattanooga Times Free Press they are surprised, that they had no idea the 8.1 increase took effect when the federal government’s new fiscal year started.
The newspaper reports the expense payments automatically increased Oct. 1 from $171 to $185.
Lawmakers get the payments for food and lodging costs while away from their home districts on official business.
Legislative Office of Administration director Connie Ridley said the General Assembly’s per diem is based on the federal
reimbursement rate for the Nashville area and those rates went up in October.

Rep. Matthew Hills father, Kennth C. Hill is the president of the 501(c)(3) tax exempt Appalachin Educational Communication Corporation (d.b.a. WHCB 91.5 FM , the Hills cash cow) and 51% co-owner of the for-profit Information Communications Corporation d.b.a. WPWT 870 AMs along with AECC (49% ownership).
During the mid-1990s, the elder Hill, president of AECC, filed articles of incorporation with the Tennessee Secretary of State creating on paper another non-profit entity as known as the Appalachin Performing Arts Institute.
Until 2007, APAI appeared, to be a dormnat non-profit when the FCC began accepting applications for new contruction licenses for new noncommercial radio stations acros the United States. The FCC apparently has a limit (ten as I recall) to the number of these limited new construction licenses that can be granted to any one noncommercial entity.
Also in 2007, Rep. Matthew Hill became presdient of his fathers APAI and began applying for these same applications for new construction under the APAI banner, apparently in excess of the maximum number in excess of the Federal Communications regulations per the Federal Code of Regulations (FCR). Rep. Matthew Hills new construction applications also fail to mention his and his fathers ties to the noncommercial Appalachian Education Communication Corporation.

So where’s this extra money coming from so our elected clowns can eat better meals and stay in nicer hotels? Oh that’s right, our pockets. While we are taking cuts in pay, doing more with less and even losing our jobs, our elected officials need more for themselves!Talk about greedy!
Great. It’s good to know our Republican elected officials care as much about us as our Democratic elected officials. Scurrilous scalawags all. The 2 party system doesn’t appear to be working for we the people anymore.
Wow. Us common folk are busting our tale trying to figure out where the next 14.00 is gonna come from and these aclowns just get it handed to them on a silver platter. No red tape, no headahes, no 50 questions, just a here ya go. So many people are without jobs, and cant afford food, house, clothing, and health insurance but these crooked politicians get to live above the rest of us. What a great society this is. I dont wanna hear anyone say this is the best place on earth. Its the most crooked and deceitful. I hope a politician never comes campaining at my door. It will be a sad day for him.
