Tazewell County crash claims one life
A single-vehicle crash clamied the life of a Tazewell County man late last night.
Virginia State Police say Hubert Allen Owens, 31, Tazewell, was killed when he crashed near Pocahontas just before midnight.
Police say Owens was traveling on Route 644 in his 1985 Ford Mustang when he ran off of the shoulder, overcorrected the car, crossed over the road and went over an embankment. Police tell us he car then caught on fire.
According to police, emergency crews airlifted Owens’ passenger to Bristol Regional Medical Center.
