Steppenstone Youth Treatment Center

Steppenstone Youth Treatment Center in Limestone, Tennessee is a place where young men with emotional or behavioral problems can get the help they need.

Steppenstone averages about forty young men at all times at the facility, just off highway 11-E in Washington County.  The main focus of Steppenstone is getting these young men ready to take up an active role in their local communities.  Alot of them have internal pictures of themselves that are not very good, and Steppenstone tries to change that picture.

One young man named “Shawn” has been at Steppenstone for about five months now.  He was skipping school, doing and selling drugs, and just generally breaking the law.  “Shawn” says that his time at Steppenstone has helped him mature, and overcome his emotional problems. He credits the staff at Steppenstone for his progress.

Nationally fifty-five percent of young men that have emotional and behavioral problems at an early age, end up in an institution. Steppenstone takes these young men, and gets them ready to be good citizens in the community.
