A Rogersville man has been arrested for felony Child Abuse, after his 5 year old son told a representative of the Tennessee Department of Children Services that his father became upset with him and kicked him in the side repeatedly. On November 11th, the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Department and the TDCS representative went to 231 Klepper Estates Drive in Rogersville to investigate a possible child abuse. The victim told them his father, 35 year old Everette Michael Turner, had become upset with him and kicked him repeatedly in the side.  When the TDCS representative asked Turner if he had kicked the child, he responded that he had kicked him two or three times but thought that he had kicked him in the leg. The child was taken to Hawkins County Emergency Room for treatment and evaluation and released to his mother. Turner, who is listed at 6’8”, 357 pounds, on the arrest warrant, is still behind bars in the Hawkins County Jail, on a $10,000 bond.

Commonsense—Thanks.  I should have thought of this myself. I have always hated other people minding everyone elses business, but officials need to check this whole family out. Where has lockneyt gone to? Has the family put a gag on you?

Granny-
Why don’t you just contact ‘protective services’ yourself…
Ask them to investigate.  Refer them to these comments.

The more I see this, the sicker I get. This family has some major issues here, and the children are paying the price. If Mr.Turner did this (and he admitted it)and lockneyt is okay with abuse, then ANY children associated with this family need to be removed.DCS has a bad habit of turning their head if no obvious signs of abuse are noticable. This time they better act. This is all being played out in the papers,so if anything else happens—it’s on DCS heads. You had better act.

lockneyt. You stated the father kicked the child only once, not repeatedly as the “brat” child indicated. FYI, a five year old child or one of any age should not be KICKED anytime. Is this what is causing your anger, bunky? That the “brat child”, newspaper, DCS,or police lied about how many times the child was kicked? It’s apparent it’s not the kicking of a child that has gotten you so upset. Did it ever occur to you that the child may have been remembering of “other” times they had been kicked by “dad” and not just this time, when you weren’t around? Did this possibility ever cross your mind? Thank God someone had the courage to report it “this time”

Oh my gosh…...I am at awe over the fact that “lockneyt” is okay with this!  Just his/her postings alone show there is no intelligence at all in that person, but I thought even stupid people had a little bit of common sense.  I am with “abdgranny” that if it is true that family members were around, that you all get investigated, and hopefully your children and familiy members children will be taken care of if they are in danger too.  IF this kid that was kicked is a “brat” as lockneyt says, then its the fault of the parents anyhow, children tend to act like thier parents…........can only imagine what lockneyts kids are like, if he/she has them, and hopefully they don’t!!  Plus, it is clear that the Dept. of Children Services normally don’t just take the kids out of the home unless there is clear evidence of abuse/mistreatment.  There are way to many other stories in the news where Dept. of Children Services went to the home etc. and never took the child….but sure should have.  Maybe this time this boy can get some help and move on in life to be an outstanding citizen and positive role model later in life!  Lockneyt, I suggest you get help….....

To kick a child one time or 50 times is indefensible.  If that’s your choice of punishment, then you are a moron and a danger to that child and other children.  The others that watched this without doing anyting are also morons.  I hope the DFS takes this little guy away from these losers and finds a loving home for him.  ANd, please spay/neuter these breeders so they don’t procreate another child to abuse.  This is when forced sterilizatin should be de rigeur.

Excuse me—I meant Hawkins County police instead of Washington County police.

Commonsense-how can one forgive people with this mentality? I just hope and pray that DSS has gotten any children out of that situation. It is printed in black & white-this man and his family see nothing wrong with kicking a 5 year old. lockneyt keeps referring to this child as ‘a brat kid’. PLEASE, if anyone from Washington Co police or DSS reads these postings, DO SOMETHING!!!!!
