The grand opening of the Center For Advanced Manufacturing took place this morning in downtown Kingsport.

The Center will help those in need of job skill training, prepare to enter today’s workforce.

Matt Kisber, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, was on hand for the ribbon cutting.  Kisber believes that the center will help spur economic development in Northeast Tennessee.

The Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing is part of the Kingsport Academic Village which includes the Regional Center for Health Professions, the Kingsport Higher Education Center, the Regional Center for Applied Technology, and the Pal Barger School of Automotive Technology.
