Claypool Hill, Va.—A week after the tragic double murder in Tazewell County, Va., the Claypool Hill community came together at Pizza Plus this afternoon, to remember Valerie and Harvey Looney, share support, and pray for answers in the ongoing investigation.
Pizza Plus re-opened Sunday, dishing out pies to to a packed dining room of friends and neighbors.
“It’s a community that, when it faces adversity,“ says Mike Ratliff, a friend of the Pizza Plus owners, “it responds the right way. Out of love…[the community] renders all the support that it can.“
Tazewell County Sheriff H.S. Caudill says many other local, state and federal agencies are helping with their investigation. He says they have interviewed many people and continue to organize information, hoping for solid answers in the next week.
Pizza Plus is offering a reward that they hope will lead to the arrest of those responsible. If you have any information, contact Virginia State Police or the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office.
