Powerball In Virginia

The director of the Virginia Lottery says she expects Powerball tickets to be available in the state by next spring.
The operators of the multistate Powerball and Mega Millions lottery games have agreed in principle to join forces.
That means the 12 Mega Millions states, including Virginia, will be able to sell Powerball tickets. The 33 Powerball states also will offer Mega Millions.
Paula Otto, director of the Virginia Lottery, says the state could lose some Mega Millions revenue to surrounding states but still expects a net gain because Virginians won’t have to go out of state to play Powerball.
She says this will give another option to Virginians who only play the big jackpot games.
