The air was cold and crisp, but no snow, and yet sleds and barking dogs were the center of attention at Steele Creek Park this past Sunday.

Girl Scout Troop 155 of Bristol, led by Diane Sheperd, enjoyed a hands-on learning excursion with the help of the Siberian Husky Assist organization.

The Siberian Husky sponsors in attendance were Marcia Home, Beverly Smelser and Sharon Bradley.  Safety and training were the watch words of the day. Sharon and Allan Bradley have worked with Huskies for years participating in both adoptions and rescue efforts and currently help run the Siberian Husky Sanctuary.

The scouts present for the outing were Emilee Sheperd, Madeline Rash, Kyra rose and Emily Jennings.  They took turns feeding and caring for the animals and each got to take a fun-filled ride.  Sleds and a giant tricycle were fitted with wheels and the dogs and kids all had a wonderful time.
