Pawn Shops Seeing More Affluent Customers

Pawn Shops Seeing More Affluent Customers

Business is booming at Ronny Nelson’s Quick Cash Pawn Shop.

“I took in a boat today.  Sixteen foot bass boat,“ said Nelson.

Especially, among a new type of clientele.  “Middle class people are coming in.  Customers we haven’t seen before,“ said Nelson.

These are people whose 401-K’s have diminished, who have lost their jobs, or who are having trouble getting a small loan from banks.

“They’re looking for second tier lending from somewhere else.  A second place where they can manufacture some cash,“ said Nelson.

At Nelson’s shop as well as others in the region, owners are seeing a large number of contractors, out of work because of the housing crunch, pawning their tools.

I think someone said a Governor from Illinois was trying to pawn a Senate seat, the pawn broker did not buy it but he said he saw him speaking to an older man of color that may have took it off his hands.

Did you see the look on his face when he spoke about the boat? So glad someone is able to profit from the misery of others. How soon until we see the incredibly rich pawning their Mercedes and diamond necklaces? Get on down here and join the rest of us.
