UPDATE: Dungannon, Virginia Fire Victim Airlifted After House Fire
UPDATE AT 8:30 a.m.: Scott County 911 Director Tim Addington confirmed that one person was airlifted by Virginia State Police MedFlight to a local hospital. Addington did not have information about the seriousness of the person’s injury. We’re now told the fire happened at 159 Fourth Avenue, Dungannon. The first call for help came at 3:53 a.m., and MedFlight landed one hour later to take the fire victim to Holston Valley Medical Center, said Addington. No word yet on the name of that person.
Dungannon, Nickelsville, and Fort Blackmore Fire Departments along with the Scott County Lifesaving Crew and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office were called to the fire scene.
The American Red Cross is helping the family.

A house caught fire in Dungannon, Virginia at about 4 a.m. Friday.
One person was taken to the hospital, a 9-1-1 dispatcher said. No information was available about the seriousness of the injury.
Dispatchers would only say that the house was on Veteran’s Memorial Highway in the heart of Dungannon, Virginia.
