No Life-Threatening Injuries After Car Plunges Into River
Nobody received any life-threatening injuries after a car with six people went over an embankment and into Doe River in Carter County.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, this wreck happened in the Hampton community at the intersection of 19E and Rittertown Road around 3:30 Sunday morning.
THP says six people between the ages of 16 and 18 were in a 1996 Honda Civic when the driver lost control driving on 19E. THP then tells us the car went over a 40-foot embankment and into Doe River. The driver was thrown from the car, which landed on top of him and pinned him in the river, according to the highway patrol.
THP then says a man who lives nearby heard the accident, ran to the scene and held the driver’s head above the water until emergency crews arrived. They then tell us crews rushed all six to Johnson City Medical Center.
We’re told none of the injuries, even the driver’s, are life-threatening.

WOW!!!!!SIX people in a Honda Civic???? Well the driver needs his D.L. REVOKED for at least 10 years and spend a few years in jail so he don’t kill anyone!!!!!!!!And the other ones need to go to crossroads for at least 12 months so they will not (maybe) make the same mistake!!!! And the parents of the under age passengers should spend at least 48 hrs in jail for letting their kids be out with this NUT at 3:30 AM !!!!!!! The worthless adults raising these kids could have flowers on their door and signs that says slow funeral today!!!!!!!
