NC Woman Top Pick For Northeast St. Community College President

  BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A North Carolina community college
administrator is the top pick to lead a Tennessee school.
   

Tennessee Board of Regents President Charles Manning on Tuesday
will recommend Haywood Community College vice president Janice
Gilliam to lead Northeast State Community College in Blountville.


Gilliam is currently vice president of student development services at the Clyde, N.C., school.
She would replace Dr. Bill Locke.
   

Gilliam landed the recommendation over two finalists from within
the Regents’ higher education system: Steven R. Campbell, vice
president for business affairs at Northeast State; and R. Foster
Chason, vice president for student affairs and athletic director at
Walters State Community College in Morristown.
