Murder - Suicide Investigation

Investigators in Hawkins County say it appears the deaths of a man and woman there over the weekend were the result of a murder - suicide.

Sheriff Roger Christian said the daughters of 53-year old Patricia Jones found their mother and 61-year old Joseph Jones in the couple’s Church Hill home on Carters Valley Road Saturday.

A report obtained today by News Channel 11 Connects says deputies found the gun in Joseph Jones’ hands, and both the deceased had gunshot wounds to the head.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led up to the gunfire.
