Three more arrests have been made in a months-long investigation into a Glade Spring drug ring in which a local U.S. postmaster is already facing criminal charges, Glade Spring Police Chief Matthew Mullins said Friday.

William Aaron Pringle, Tiffany Myrick and Ryan Andrew Hancock, all of Glade Spring, were arrested in December and charged with multiple drug offenses as the coordinated federal and local investigation draws to a close, Mullins said.

The investigation, which began in the spring, led to federal charges against Janet Davenport, then-U.S. postmaster in St. Paul, Va.

Mullins said Davenport is accused of obtaining illegal prescription drugs and sharing them with her friend, Sharon Doane, who lived in the 200 block of Fairmont Street in Glade Spring.

Investigators searched the homes of both Davenport and Doane in June, confiscating a number of drugs, including prescription pain killers, narcotics and illegal substances, including cocaine and marijuana, police said.

After that search, Davenport was charged with conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.

The search warrants were issued after a confidential source made several buys over a two-month period, according to federal court documents obtained by the Bristol Herald Courier at the time.

No charges have been filed against Doane so far in the investigation, Glade Spring patrol officer Sam Matney said Friday.

Pringle, Myrick and Hancock were living in Doane’s home at the time of the June searches, police said.

The charges against the three include possession and intent to distribute marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs, Mullins said in a written statement on the arrests.

Matney said, “those charges are a result of the search warrant we executed at Sharon Doane’s house. This is ongoing. We’re tying up loose ends.”

“There were several things set off with those search warrants, not everything was analyzed at the time,” Matney said. “I think that helped us make the case better, we’ve been building it to make it good and strong.”

Davenport is out on bond and awaiting federal court appearance scheduled for February, Mullins said.
